About the data
What is counted
- A player is counted when he is on the newest roster we have for a D1, D2 or D3 school and we traced how he joined it.
- Where he came from is his last stop. A player who went from a D1 to a junior college and then to a D1 counts as a junior college transfer. A prep or post-grad year is counted on its own, as neither high school nor a transfer.
- A school's division is its division today.
- D1: 11,134 players at 307 schools. D2: 10,314 players at 254 schools. D3: 14,935 players at 379 schools. Players we could not trace are left out of every share.
